Nursing Students (PN and RN) and Faculty/Instructors of OOPNE member schools are invited to attend the Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators Student Conference. There will also be a job fair to allow the opportunity for nursing students and employers to interact. Presentation topics include: How to Become a Good Nurse Advocate, Ohio Board of Nursing Licensure Information, and Professional Skills.
Registration Fee: $10 per attendee (student or faculty/instructor) & includes a potato bar lunch (feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks)
Registration & payment are due by October 1st. Please make checks payable to OOPNE ($50 fee for returned checks).

Lauralee Krabill Memorial Scholarship ​for Practical Nursing Students

We are honored to announce this scholarship in memory of our colleague and friend, Lauralee Krabill, MBA, RN-BC, CNOR, a long-standing member of OOPNE and serving as an OOPNE board member for many years. This scholarship recognizes Lauralee's nursing career spanning over 46 years and her legacy of supporting OOPNE and nursing education in Ohio. 

The Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators (OOPNE) offers the Lauralee Krabill Memorial Scholarship for up to three (3) Practical Nursing students for $500 each twice per year. 
Applications are due February 15, 2025 for the Winter Award and April 15, 2025 for the Spring Award.
Application Information:
  • Applications will be submitted using the form below.
  • Applicants must attend a school represented by an OOPNE member (please contact Jasmine Rausch, Chair of Communications Committee, to confirm which schools are qualified at oopneboard@gmail.com).
  • Student will submit a 500-750 word essay on how a Practical Nursing education would help you achieve your professional goals and contribute to achieving your five (5) year professional plan.
  • Student will need to request a letter of support from a faculty member from the nursing school. The faculty member must be an OOPNE member. The letter of support should come from the faculty member's school email address and can be emailed to oopneboard@gmail.com.
  • In submitting an application, you certify that the information provided is complete and accurate to the best of your knowledge. If requested, you agree to give proof of information you have given on the application form. You understand that falsification of information may result in termination of any scholarship granted and that this application becomes the property of the Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators.
  • Upon selection, the recipients of the scholarship will be notified by email to make arrangements for receiving the award.
